Ambulance LTD plays a secret gig to test out new material and band members

Last night Ambulance LTD played a secret gig at Union Hall in Brooklyn, NY, They billed themselves as "Impervious". Ambulance played old material and NEW material. The new material will be on an album which is being released this year. Some of it was produced by Velvet Underground's John Cale. The purpose of the show was to test out new material, and try out the new band in the settings. Singer Marcos Congelton is the only member left, that played on the debut album in 2004.

Here is some footage I shot at the show last night:

"Upsetter"(new track)

Hey some of you may have seen The Cinematics on tour with Ambulance some time ago. I think the tour was mainly in the UK? Maybe further? And for those of you who are largely unfamiliar with The Cinematics, well you should check them out. Click on the banner and go. You will be hearing alot about them, if you havent already

Velvet Underground's John Cale producing Ambulance LTD's new album
Ambulance Ltd. frontman Marcus Congleton and Velvet Underground multi-instrumentalist John Cale have been working together in an L.A. studio on Ambulance's sophomore record, NME reports. With Congleton's bandmates having departed to form the Red Romance, Ambulance is basically Congleton by his lonesome; no permanent lineup has been announced. According to NME, Congleton has worked on upwards of 18 tracks with Cale providing production and keyboards, including one track called "Lady Fingers" that Congleton compared to Al Green and Sly Stone. The as-yet-untitled record should emerge for a summer 2007 release. Meanwhile, the Red Romance spent the fall opening for the Killers on East Coast dates.

wow, there hasnt been alot of activity in this community for awhile. I will take the blame for that, since I maintain the community.

Unofficially, there has been a change in the band. Well, a large change. Matt, Darren, and Benji have left Ambulance LTD and formed a new band called the Red Romance. you can check them out on myspace. www.myspace.com/theredromance

Ambulance LTD is not done though. As Marcus, is basically going to, or has, recruited new members in the band. Marcus is currently in LA writing for the next album.

And just incase you were unaware, Ambulance LTD did release an EP back in MArch, called New English EP. It is a very good piece to add to your collection, if you havent already. My current favorite song, is off that album, and actually sung by Matt. "Arbuckles Swan Song".

Austin City Limits
Ambulance LTD played the Austin City Limits music festival this past Sunday afternoon, and I was there.

It was weird, seeing them without a keyboard player, but I suppose they'll take someone new on soon...or I'll just get over it :P

Kudos to the band for not dying while playing in 100+ degree weather. It was ridiculously hot.

They played five new songs. I think I may have heard one of them on myspace, but the other four were completely new to me.

My pictures from the festival can be found here. The Ambulance pictures start in the ninth row and continue through the fourteenth.

Ambulance LTD Acoustic @Pianos in New York 9/17
Marcus and Matt from Ambulance LTD, performed acoustically at Pianos on the lower East Side of Manhattan.. here are a few pics.

Marcus is the one standing, and Matt is the one sitting..
Matt normally plays bass in the band. But, he did an amazing job on guitar.

The Blue Van
Do you like The Rolling Stones, The Who, Small Faces, Animals, and more of that mid-60's British Invasion stuff? If so, then check out the Blue Van. These Danish rockers just recently finished a tour with Hot Hot Heat and Robbers on High Street. They have an amazing stage pressence, and write great songs.

Last Night.
I doubt that anyone from this community was at the show last night in lansing, besides me. HA. The show was the smallest i have ever been to. Only about 20 people there total. It was really fun. Ambulance put on a really nice show.I took a few pictures. I felt stalkery because it was so small. also when they 1st took the stage there were only my friend and i standing up. After they played a few songs, and after a few more drinks the crowd began to get into their set. I was so excited when they played "Stay turned"...

Anyways. it was a really great show and it was cheap as hell.

Later.

hello Ambulance LTD fans, Ambulance has a new home on Myspace. Some of you may have the old page on your friends, but that one is now obsolete and will soon be deleted. if you are on myspace, please add www.myspace.com/ambulanceltd to your friends. If you havent heard Ambulance yet, now you can, by going to that same page. Just copy and paste the previous address into your browser and check out the band. The new home is more official looking.

and if you should ever want to add myself, go here But, I am not important.. So add Ambulance.

Thank you
